Angels Surrounding Us

Here is another true story about how we must have angels surrounding us. We do seem to give them a hard time, but since they are probably our dear departed relatives, I think that they are happy to help us.

His name was Paul Howard Stout, and looking back it seemed like he was a cat-- one with nine lives (so they say!)

For such a nice, quiet, sweet boy, it was amazing that he had so many close calls with death in his life.

When he was about the same age as Kirt  when he was run over, the same thing happened to Paul! Yes, it really did.

One summer day when he was about a year and a half, he and his brothers and sisters were playing on the front lawn at 1626 So. 50 E. in Orem, Utah.

Mama was in the house folding clothes in the bedroom,
daddy was in the yard doing work,
and the neighbors across the street were all excited to see their dad drive in to the driveway of their yard. He had been gone, and they were getting ready to move.

About that time, the neighbor man was told he would need to move his car as the moving van was coming, so he did,to the street.

At that very time, Paul, in T shirt and diaper, toddled across the street to see what was happening.

Just at the moment when Mr. Halliday's car backed into the street, Paul arrived, and then it happened. The car ran over Paul!!

Another neighbor, Audene Yearsley,  a few houses away, heard screams and saw what had happened! She had just gotten home from the hospital a few days before, but she ran down to help Paul. The bump and scream alerted Mr. Halliday, and so he pulled forward, running over Paul again!!!

Paul's family were alerted to the screams and they all rushed to help. Daddy ran across the street and picked up a  crying little child, and mama ran out too, and they took him in the car to the Utah Valley Hospital. They were so glad he was still alive and crying.

The Doctors checked him out and said he could have a ruptured spleen, but that did not happen. He too was finally sent home with no serious injuries. All the family knelt and prayed for little Paul.
Mama stayed by his side all night, and next morning he was hungry and seemed fine.  He got well fast too, and had no complications. Those angels were really really busy that day.

Our Prayers Were Answered

Hi boys and girls!

Here are some more stories. I hope they make you think, and you ask your parents about them. They are true.

Once upon a time, there was a dear little 18 month old boy named Kirt. He lived in San Pedro California, and had a big brother named Lynn D and a new born sister named Shauna. Kirt loved to play at his Grandma Engh's house, because he had an aunt Lorraine there too. Kirt's mama was home with new baby Shauna, and Grandma was tending the boys for a few hours.

One day Kirt was in the front yard of Grandma's house with his new toy pail and spade, or scoop. There was no good dirt there to play with, as it was all grass, so he decided to go a little farther to where he could see some good dirt and gravel. He was so happy.

However, the dirt was a driveway next to Grandma's house, and that was the day a neighbor named Mrs. Peterman decided to drive her car to the store. As she backed out of the driveway, she did not see a little boy sitting there. Soon she felt a bump, and it scared her. She got out of her car and began screaming that she had run over that little boy!!
Grandma came running out of the house, and she and Mrs Peterman picked up the crying boy with the crushed pail.

They were glad he was crying as they knew he was alive!
Kirt was rushed to the San Pedro Hospital, just a few blocks away, and the Doctors gave him a sucker with aspirin in it. That made Kirt happy.

The Doctors could not find anything seriously wrong with him but they did see tire tracks across his bare back.

After awhile they sent him home, and by then his mama was there too. Everyone was so sad and worried about that precious little boy who had been run over.

Later his dad was there too, and everyone prayed for Kirt to be all better.

The next day Kirt was kind of sore, and he walked carefully, but he did get all better. All of the family were so grateful for his life, and that Heavenly Father had heard their prayers and healed him.

Kirt grew up to be a big, tall man and he had his own little boys and girls. That is why we pray for each other, and are so happy when each person is safe and well.
