Paul and Nathanael and the Scouts hiked King's peak Utah, el. 13, 534 Ft. and when they stood there it now measures  6;5 in. taller, Hard to breathe however. So glad they are safely down after a 3 day hike up and back. Love, Mom

Thanks Mom. We are feeling very tired and sore this morning.  It was very strenuous.  The actual hiking of the mountain wasn’t too terrible, but it’s like trying to hike Timp, but having to start from Spanish Fork (King’s peak is very remote, and it takes a day to get there.)  And getting back to camp was very late at night, and we had to use a headlamp.  So the day we summited, we actually hiked 25 miles!  40 miles total in 2.5 days.  Nathanael did great, even though he had a blisters and a stomach ache.

  1. That morning, just before hitting the trail, I felt prompted to take the headlamp. I thought it would be unnecessary, but ... that night coming back to camp in the dark, moonless night. That headlamp saved us. We hiked probably 8 miles in the dark.
