A death in the Stout Family: son of Trisha and Regan Willmore

Trisha and Regan Willmore lost their 17 year old son to a hiking accident in AF canyon last week and the funeral is this morning. It was a tragic thing. He was an Eagle Scout and fine young man. You remember Trisha is Vaughn's daughter and used to live with us when her brother did also, John. I think that Janna is helping out. She and Trisha have remained very good friends. V wont be there as he just had knee surgery. He turned 80 the day before I did. His wife is 90 I heard.
Richard and Dad just left for the funeral in Highland. I would have gone but I am still fighting this chest cold. It makes me very tired so I dont do much. I am on the mend though, and it would not be good to expose myself to crowds either. I went to Stake Conf on Sunday and should have stayed home. It set me back. Elissa has a cold too but we are all doing better.

Hi Aunt Colleen,
Sorry to hear you have pneumonia! That's terrible.  Be SURE to not get exposed to the Swine flu while you have that... it's a lethal combination. Take care!
No, my Dad will not be there... he recently had a knee operation and is still recovering.  His wife is 90 and doesn't have any energy, and can hardly cope every day.  Dad just turned 80 this month on the 2nd, Terrell's birthday too.  Terrell is here in town.  Trisha had reserved a time-share condo for all us sisters and my mom to stay at Saturday night.  Terrell flew in on Thursday at Noon, and we had this planned for several months, so this was a terrible shock and it was good Terrell was here to help with things.  It's an open house tonight, they couldn't have a viewing because too much damage was done, even though they tried to help make him look ok for it.  Regan was devastated after having to go and identify him... and I'm glad that Trisha didn't go.  What a horrible nightmare!  But at least they have the gospel and have that comfort.  We are SO blessed for that.
I'll look forward to seeing Uncle Owen.
Take care of yourself... drink lots of fluids,
Love,
Leigh

Trish or Patricia is the daughter of Vaughn and Louise Stout, and she lived with us for about a year along with her brother John after Vaughn left the family destitute and homeless. While living with us she met and married Regan Willmore, an outstanding fellow who was related to friends on Carterville Rd. They had their reception at our house ( very low key) and even a shower was held in our ugly back yard before that. Love knows no problems!! He did well as an Air traffic controller. They live in HIghland and have about 6-7 kids. Very fine family. She has a lovely singing voice and has also composed music. I keep in touch with her sister Leigh Woodward all the time through email. She lives in SL and works at the same hosp as Emily McConkie ( did) and they are acquainted. Small world. Leigh has had a hard life but is a fine person. She was div from her first husband and remarried but a few years ago he died from an accidental pill overdose. It was very sad, but now she has remarried. She has had at least a couple of her kids go on missions. She too has a lovely singing voice and made a couple of CD's. They are a talented bunch- most of V kids. John and Lynda live in Lehi ( he is a builder). BTW he met her while living with us too. She lived just north of us in a different stake. Addy is very talented and has her own business. I dont think
Bill is active in the church and I know his wife isnt. Jim is active and we email. He lives in Kaysville and knows Paul. Holly still lives with her mom and is more retarded than ever. The twin boys, Richard and Robert are alcoholics and a royal pain-- having been in and out of jail. They sponge off Louise as you remember, and have never married. The end.

Sam - out the door to the MTC (emails between Jayne and Shauna)

11/07/09

To: Jayne Macpherson

What a nice letter and thanks for sharing it. Too bad about your mad cow disease though. Stay away from that herd of milk cows near your house-- or did they move it?
We will be seeing Sam on his way to the MTC on Wed. We wonder if he and Camilla will ever see each other? She will only be there one more week. No language to learn! Sam will be going into summer in Aus. Camilla into winter in Va. She is so tall and skinny that I hope she can keep warm and well there. She is used to cold but not damp. Did you hear that she got to visit Doug before she left? She went alone but Janet guided her through the maze of doing it. She was brave and kind to do it too. It really did make him happy! Janet was here last evening and brought me a bouquet of mums and played the piano for us. She played a beautiful arrg of The Lord's Prayer by Mallotte, one of our favorites. She is very good. She gave us the whole rundown on the visit with Doug and said it really was a miracle that they worked it out!! He has two more years to go! Unbelievable!! Unfair and unjust as well.
I am working on finally getting rid of my cold. It has hung on. Elissa is doing the same. They could move in as early as a couple of days before TG to their new house. Very exciting.
We did something exciting today as well. We prepaid all of our funeral costs inc the headstone. Actually we will pay the money on Tues. after we decide the stone engraving. We are going through Bergs and Walker stone. Both have been around forever! Grandpa Engh worked for them awhile after he arrived in Utah from Norway as a young man. Ole was his uncle, his mom's brother. They started out making simple coffins and the women in the family made linings for them, and the dad used his carriage to pick up the bodies and all. That was the beginning. Ole was a master builder and worked on the St Geo Temple and the Provo Tabernacle. I should check it out on Google! I used to work for them as an organist when they needed me. I earned about 35$ each time. It was fun actually. Now at least the family wont need to worry about it and it will make it all smoother when we go. We are going-- but not sure when! Not in any hurry!
I hate this Vesicare I am taking as it makes me sick to my stomach and I may give it up. Yuk! Dry mouth too. Every pill has side effects and most are worse than the problem.
Thanks for all the latest Az news. Hold on tight for the next news headlines. I tried to call you after the Ft Hood shooting. I think it was ideology, and he wanted  72 Virgins-- now! He knew very well what he was doing which makes him a domestic Terrorist and there are more like him out there. You would never know it from the MSM news! They want to say he was misunderstood and had PWDS although he had never been in a war!! We are under attack, and very blessed that all terrorists are not successful!! We are asleep and a war is on. Love, Mom

My letter to Shauna~ I thought the part about the blood drive would be sorta interesting to you. I'll bet you didn't know I had mad cow!

Ooohh Shauna that was a sad picture. Bitter sweet but it is so sad they have all left and you are alone.... with 500 other people and Steve.... Oh it is still so sad how can he be grown up so fast and off to see the world. He is such a good looking young man and what a wonderful person he is! You should be so proud of the amazing Mother you are well the most amazing parents you both are. You have done a fantastic job! You are really going to miss him. Now you need Ben to come stay for a year and go to school in SC. It may be good for Ben too. Sam had a "pre mission" and now Ben could have a post mission "mission" he would be wonderful for the missionaries too! I am sure you have been running around at mach 5 with your hair on fire getting him ready with all the another things you have done in such a short time. Had knee surgery, toured the mission with a general auth and his wife, Went to a mission Presidents conference in Florida,  Making wonderful food and doing all sorts of other things! That is just the part that I have heard. How is your knee? Are you rubbing Maderma into the scar 2 times a day? It is very important to do it now while it is still fresh. How long is the scar? My physical therapist showed me how to rub in small hard circular motions in each area of the scar as you rub the scar med or Vit E oil into the scar. I really love Vit E oil I wish I had discovered it years ago. I use it on my scar and as a makeup remover and as an eye cream at night. I rub it on my elbows or anywhere else it is dry. (we live in a very dry area in the winter is is worse!) The vit E has really helped my scar!
Did I tell you I have have been cane free for 3 weeks now! I am doing much better even better than when Spencer was here. Yesterday I had a great day walking. I went to help with a blood drive at our ward. Brother Turley's family put it on. I think I told you about Celia Turley. She was a good friend of ours. She was 38 and taught kindergarten and has 5 kids from 17 to 7 years old. She was feeling tired and bruised easily so she went to the Dr. That night they called her in the middle of the night to tell her to come in. She had Leukemia. She never left the hospital. they started her on Chemo her body had a bad reaction to it and started shutting down. She died that next day! It has been so hard for her husband he is the nicest guy and such a sweet person. He was released from the bishopric and he also quit his job. He stays home with the kids and does it all himself.  So~~ for this  blood drive he asked for help. I made cookies as a lot of the sisters did.  I was the reception person to help everyone as they came in. We had way too many people come it was overwhelming! I started at 4 and brought Anna and her kids, Sarah and Allison. Sarah and Anna were able to donate. (Allison is too young 14) They waited from 4 to 7:30! Afterwards I took them and Edgar joined us and 4 of the girls friends out to dinner. Sarah's boyfriend, Brad works at Fudruckers so we all went there and he joined us.
I can never donate blood because I had Hepatitis when I was 14 and I had mad cow disease! Well Dale and I lived in Germany between 1977 to 1980 so they say we had mad cow. We will never be able to be a organ donor either.
SSSOOO tell me all that you did to get Sam ready and out the door? I knew last night he was leaving soon as there was something about it on Facebook asking Sam is Mom is way sad already. The picture of him is so darling! He will be a  FANTASTIC AMAZING AWESOME  missionary - look at all the training he has had and all of the experienced brothers and sister who have helped him. His mom is THE mission mom!
Take care and don't be too sad  That is what motherhood is all about working yourself out of a job! Love Jayne

Happy Birthday from Logan

Dear Logan, Thank you very much for your kind birthday greeting! What a nice surprise to hear from you. I am feeling better now thank you. It wasnt the flu but just a bad chest cold etc. We still don't have our shots but might get them sometime.
Thank you too for the precious photos you send of your adorable children! They remind me some of you when you were a baby. We tended you while your mom was in school for a short time. Then when I was in Germany I remember what a very smart kid you were! Never changed either.
I had a nice day in spite of my cold. Elissa is here with her husband and baby while they are buying a house. It is nice to have a baby around again. Love to you, Noelette and the growing children. Grandma the Octogenarian

Grandmother Colleen,

I wanted to wish you a happy birthday, and let you know that you've been in my thoughts and prayers with regards to your health and well being. Although I've never felt that your spirit needed any help, I also pray for your inner health.

I'm sorry this is so brief, Everyone in the house is sick to varying degrees with what I hope is a normal flavor of the flue, so time and sleep and energy are all in very short supply right now. We're lucky to get a few hours of sleep, and a few more hours of good mood from them before they start to feel crabby again.

The example you and Owen have shown me throughout my life is more precious and means more to me than I could ever express in words. I feel the best chance I have to show how important your actions have been is to do everything I can to keep my marriage healthy, and raise my own children the best way I can.

Love,

Logan

Happy Birthday from Cheryl

Thank you Cheryl and family! Sorry about Halloween but I was sick in bed that night and I am still not well. We didnt have lights on to welcome the trick or treaters. Sorry we missed you though. We tried to go to bed early but were surprised when one group of kids came. That was OK as we didnt have candy anyway but managed to find some. Different H for sure!
Tomorrow my sisters and their husbands are bringing lunch here to celebrate. We like those Kneader's sandwiches that have turkey and cranberries and avacados in them. Yummy! I just wish I was feeling better. The cold I had last week went to my chest and just sits there and hurts. It feels like Walking Pneumonia I had years ago. Elissa is here taking good care of me. They moved in last week until their house goes through. They bought one in Sar. Springs. 4 BR. New!
As for the story: Our family went to Yellowstone in the 60's and camped out. Some of the family were in the tent with Owen and I stayed in the Station Wg. I had two or three kids in there with me. I think that Shauna was on the front seat and Andrea and one other were in the back with me. I was awakened by the car shaking, opened my eyes and looked right into the face and claws of a big bear trying to open the window which was ajar about an inch ( back window of the Chev.) Then I realized that there was another bear on top of the car which is why it was shaking! I screamed and yelled and lunged for the front seat and reached for the horn which I madly honked. The bears hurried away at the noise and the family woke up ( and everyone else in the park-- so I would think!)The one bear was after our food cooler on top but didnt get to it, and who knows what the other one looking at me was after? It was hard getting back to sleep after that!
The next morning we packed up to leave. I wanted out of the place-- now!! We drove over to see Old Faithful and I stayed in the car with baby Andrea,, but when the kids got out they left the tail gate down. Wouldn't you know it, a young bear came along and tried to get in the Sta Wg via the tailgate. I yelled to the others outside and they threw some gravel at the bear who was being watched by his mother and they sauntered off. We left! That is when we wound up at Macks Inn and had a great time there with no bears are out tonight! Love, Grandma
ps your dad knows the story well.
