Hi Grandma,
I just saw you sent an email. You're up early!
Thank - you for your email and apologies I haven't replied sooner.
Yes, I have some understanding of not being able to walk properly. I have had a foot problem that left me with a limp for a couple of years, it was awful! + the first day in the Alps I had terrible hip pain, I thought I wouldn't be able to do any hiking/walking, but then I discovered walking sticks - and wayhay!! my body was realigned and I was able to walk comfortably enough. For me, I always have to stretch and yoga classes help immensely. There is something called restorative yoga that perhaps you could try...
No, there wasn't any snow, I think the best glacier summer skiing is Austria, but I'm dying to go back to the French (or perhaps Swiss) Alps this winter for some skiing - it must be a decade since I was last on skis - scary!!!
Things here are going pretty well. I was seriously depressed for nearly a year and am just coming out from under the duvet to join the living again and things are actually looking quite bright. I've restarted the PhD and am feeling more confident in a research role. I have a boyfriend in Oxford. We have a lot of fun together, he is only about 60 miles away, but with traffic or train delays it can take anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 4 hours so it's really a long distance relationship. Not really ideal, but it is good for now.
Missing the states & the family loads and loads. I might be back at Easter and would love to see you then.
Take care. I'm sending lots of love your way.
Kristen xoxo

I wasn’t sure you were skiing but maybe they still had snow.
Your dad says that Justin is packing to move to Pa. and I guess marry his girlfriend. That is a long way from the slopes!! Maybe he can make a lot of money and travel to Vt. so ski! Does Matt Ski?
Your dad is having a hard time financially again. Feast or famine for him. He is trying to sell Cisco and that will help some. So many people owe him money but it all goes for lawyers. His health gets no better either. My friend told me that those with Parkinson’s usually die of pneumonia and it is a painful way to go. I feel so bad for him. He is still trying to do his best. I told him to never try driving here alone again but have someone drive him. He can drive around home so far. It is a great worry to me and Grandpa.
I hope that your life is going well. Keep in touch and let us know the latest. I always read emails and that is easy. We are fine.
Sam McConkie leaves for his mission in Aus. in a few weeks and Camilla to Richmond Va. Two new babies on the way, one for Mark and Amber Pederson and one for Heidi and Will Fanning ( Jayne's). We like our condo and moved out of our big house in time. Love, Grandma
